In case you missed the news, The State’s editorial board announced endorsements for Richland One School Board this morning, and the GROW-approved candidates we announced earlier this week match the choices The State made today:
- Steven Diaz for Seat 2
- Ericka Hursey for Seat 4
- Angela Brown and Richard Moore for the At-Large seats.
In its rebuke of the “status-quo” incumbents, The State characterized the current board members as being chronically poor stewards of money and cited that Richland One students continue to fall below the state averages for college and career readiness. “It’s time for voters to send a clear message and restore trust in this school district. The State Editorial Board endorses voting against all four incumbents and for Angela Brown, Richard Moore, Steven Diaz and Ericka Roberson Hursey in Richland 1.”
